Who invented the Copy/Paste ?
Probably the guys at Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) circa 1975. They invented it all: window GUI w/ mouse, ethernet, et.al. However the morons at Xerox corporate HQ had no clue about what they had. Learn more about it at your library; read Dealers of Lightining.
Yeah lots of stuff we take for granted was developed there. Most of the researchers got fustrated with Xerox HQ ignoring them; so they quit and started their own companies.
Like the guy who invented Ethernet and founded 3Com is an ex-Xerox PARC researcher.
Steve Jobs got a peek at the GUI once when he was invited for a tour. Then he realized the potential and asked for his entire programming staff to recieve a demo. The person that did the presentation told Xerox HQ they were giving away the kitchen sink and they did.
Then Apple attempted their own GUI machine code-name Lisa which turned out an expensive flop. Then the Mac came.... and the war began... :o
